During the month of November, I am writing about some of the things that I am grateful for.
There are so many memories that I am grateful for each day. Memories of growing up, memories of the birth of my boys, memories with my husband, memories with our kids.
Some of my favorite memories that I am most grateful for are the memories with my Dad. My Dad passed away thirteen years ago. When I was younger, I often helped him around the house with projects that he was doing. I loved to go down to his workshop and sit on a stool to talk to him while he was working. When I was in high school, I had him for a teacher a couple of times. Our conversations and time spent together are the memories that I hold near and dear to my heart.
I am so grateful for our home. My husband and I have created a comfortable home that reflects who we are. We have made many memories with our blended family in our ranch.
My favorite place is my Mom’s place up north. I’ve gone up there with my family since before I was born. The home sits on a lake, and one of my favorite things to do is to sit on the porch and watch the water. I think of all of the memories that have been made at that home and on the lake. From performing plays on the front porch, taking the paddleboat out for a ride, playing Michigan Rummy, calling dibs on the couch (the most comfortable place to take a nap), and spending time with family, it is my favorite place.
