Okay, I’ll admit it, I am lost without my planner. As much as I use technology during my daily life, I cannot make the shift to an online calendar. I am a paper planner girl all the way. My planner is in a constant state of evolution. Settling on the perfect planner for myself has been an arduous journey, to say the least. I’ve previously written about my planner saga here, here, and here.
Over the years, I have used purchased planners, planner printables from online sources, and even created my own planner pages. The binding has varied from spiral bound, three-ring binder, and discbound. I knew what I was looking for in a planner but hadn’t found exactly what I’m needing.
What I look for in a Planner
The features that I was looking for in a planner are:
- adequate planning space for home, to-dos, work, and other plans
- a space for gratitude
- a place to write birthdays and passwords
- storage pockets for loose items
enter, the happy planner
So, after much looking around, I found The Happy Planner. It has plenty of space for planning and is adequately priced. The Happy Planner is a disc-bound planner that comes in three sizes, the big, the classic, and the mini. They can be purchased at
The Happy Planner can be purchased at Michael’s or online at the Mambi (Me and My Big Ideas) website. I picked up the mini and classic sizes, on sale at Michaels, and asked for the big size as a Christmas gift.
The discs allow you to add and remove pages and other items. It has adequate space for planning, and a monthly page for goals, notes, and birthdays. I am also able to add the storage pockets that I need. Perfect!
Three planners for 2017
Three planners for 2017. Yes, you read that right. I am using three planners for this year.
The mini is the perfect size to fit into my purse and take with me. I use it to keep track of appointments, meetings, and to-dos while I am on the go.
The classic size is my main, go-to planner. It is used for planning out each day with everything that I need to keep track of. It also includes my to-do lists for each week.
I received the big planner as a Christmas gift and, it is being used as a memory planner to chronicle our year. I have spent more time journaling this last year, and this planner allows for that to happen each day. Memory planning includes writing down things that I’ve done and reflections that I have. I also include pictures relevant to that week. I look forward to working on it this year and looking over the memories that we have made.
I’m using a clear file box to store my planners and journals. It is within arm’s reach and contains them nicely. I wrote about my file box storage here. During the next few weeks, I will be sharing the inside of each of my planners. Let’s just say that planning this year has taken on a whole, new look.
Until next time,
